England Ladies First International Tour to Australia & New Zealand
Book Description
Original album of memorabilia formed by one of the team, Miss I. Leacroft. A large album containing 30pp of photographs and ephemera charting the whole tour.
They left on board S.S. Aenas for South Africa in May. There is a torn cheque for £250 from her father (?) endorsed 'Payable in Hell.' Some views of Cape Town before departure to Melbourne where they arrived in June. Mathces began in July and there are many newspaper reports and programmes. In August they arrived in New Zealand and there are programmes for matches played in Auckland, Canterbury, Hawke's Bay, Poverty Bay and Wellington
