Dockization versus Docks, Letters and Plans sent to the Mayor and Corporation of Bristol 1893

Book Description
Dockization versus Docks, Letters and Plans sent to the Mayor and Corporation of Bristol by Louis de Ridder, self published and printed by Smith Bristol 1893. In soft paper covers size 21 by 14 cm. 16 pages of text plus three folding plans and one single-page plan. These outline de Ridder’s opposition to the new docks at Avonmouth and explain his case for the creation of docks along the River Avon, the redevelopment of the city docks and the construction of a series of dams to control the tides. Signed by the author above the title on the front cover. Small nick to spine and to bottom of front cover. An oddity, ahead of its time in some respects with de Ridder arguing for the creation of a road that preceded the Portway by about 40 years. Good condition.
