He goes into Islington most days to order meat - Ostend Rabbit, Knuckle of Ham, Pig’s Head for Salting, Leg of Mutton, Jugged Hare, Veal, Beef, Lamb’s Head & Bacon, Tripe for Supper.
Also plenty of seasonal vegetables, fruits & potatoes. Broad Beans, Peas, Cherries, Raspberries & Currants. Salad for Supper. Capers & Vinegar, Cocoa.
The day consists of Breakfast, Dinner (Main Meal), Tea (often Malt Loaf) and Supper.
Orders a case of Whiskey, bottle of Brandy, 1/2 doz India Pale Ale,

Also visits Lord’s Cricket Ground for the ‘Gentlemen v Players’ unfortunately turned out wet & no play after Lunch!
Winter very cold - outbreak of INFLUENZA from which many died (including the 28 year old Duke of Clarence at Sandringham) Doctor called to his wife Lizzie & calls each day for a week. Many funerals mentioned.
