Celebrating 50 years of book fairs

Book Description

8vo. pp [viii], 237, [5], 224. Contemporary calf worn, front hinge weak, edges marbled, internally clean. Early signature Sarah Walcot, ex dono pabry [?] 1677. The first part consists of reflections on the philosophy of life: happiness, hope, anger and so on. The second is an essay on the Lord s Prayer. This work was an immediate success, and there were multiple printings in the first year. This example appears to be R228670, though has eight pages of prelims rather than the ten given there. Our prelims are seemingly complete, and run [a1], a2-3, [a4], that is title page, then two leaves preface, then a final prelim leaf with errata (recto), contents (verso).
