                        these fragments of early printing were found covering beams in the Master's Lodge of Christ's College during restoration work during 1911; most of the fragments date to the sixteenth century the buildings having been established in the first decade of that period; among the finds are included proclamations, a poem on the death of Henry the Seventh, fragments of print type by Caxton & by Wynkyn de Worde, all of which are described, with some examples, in the text of this book  illustrated by b/w. frontis. & three further b/w. plates.
