= Both works wonderful examples, tight in the binding with no restorations, repairs, no stains to bindings and free of inscriptions, ex-libris etc. Through the Looking-Glass (...) with modets binder's ticket on lower pastedown ("Burn & Co."). Certainly the best set on the market and also the best we have encountered in along time.
First work tiny (ink?) stain on spine (diameter 3 mm.); both works first and final page slightly foxed. Both volumes with auction number in light pencil on verso first free endpaper referring to an Amsterdam auction in October 1964, where the former owner purchased the lot (easily erasible).

Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (27 January 1832 - 14 January 1898), better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, poet, mathematician, photographer and reluctant Anglican deacon. His most notable works are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass (1871), some of the most important examples of Victorian literature.
