Hardback. 461pp. War novel. First edition. The eighth in the sequence A Chronicle of Ancient Sunlight. The illustration to the back by C. R. W. Nevinson (an offical WWI artist) was given to Williamson by the artist and is a preparatory treatment for his painting 'A Group of Soldiers'.
Red cloth with silver titles to spine is very clean and neat. Some slight foxing to closed page edges. Laminated dust wrapper has a chip to lower edge and is tanned; the laminate is peeling to the spine.
