A Stream In Your Garden, signed by B.B.
Book Description
London: Eyre & Spottiswoode Ltd, 1948. First edition, first printing. This is a very good copy. The dust wrapper has a small chip, and closed tear at the top of the spine, with additional evidence of shelf wear throughout. There are two clean tape repairs to the reverse, at the spine tips. It has not been price clipped (6s. net). The boards are near fine in the original publishers cloth, marred by a single brown spot to the lower. The text blocks are very faintly foxed to the top and side edge. The endpapers are slightly foxed at the front and rear. To the front fly leaf is the bookplate of Bob Buteux, one of the great chub anglers of the twentieth century. To the full title page, Denys Watkins-Pitchford has flat signed his name in blue ink, and B. B. just below this. Overall, this is a very good copy of a fine signed title.
The front flap reads: 'The purpose of this book, says the author, is to tell anyone how they can have running water in the garden, even if they live miles from the nearest stream'.
