An exceptional "Collectors Copy" of the scarce privately published First Edition the author H.M Butler was working on a "History of the Forge" when he died in 1943 in his 87th year but it was completed by his descendant Rodney Butler 2 years later in collaboration with Arthur Raistrick He did though at the age of 82 succeed in publishing these private family papers of his parents correspondance and inserted is a manuscript letter to an unknown recipient at St Ann's Burley Leeds presenting this copy. Also tipped onto the halftitle is an appreciative letter from the vicar of Kirkstall John Hough. Crown 8vo 246pps Frontispiece and 23 illustrations.
