1850 Slater's DIRECTORY of MANCHESTER & SALFORD
Book Description
                        Published in 1850, this is a nice scarce early issue of Slater’s Directory of Manchester and Salford, packed with addresses and business information. 10 inches tall approx., the book is divided into four separately numbered sections,  396 +118 +109 +18 pages, plus index, the 80 pages of business adverts, followed by four unnumbered pages of adverts.
This example retains the very nice folding hand coloured copper plate printed map
                    
                                            Dealer Notes
                            The leather binding has lost its original spine covering and a previous owner has crudely repaired the binding with black tape, internally white tape has been used to strengthen the inner hinges, some creasing and foxing to the map, slight stain to top edge of opening few pages, a more noticeable stain to top edge of last three advert pages (pictured) else contents in good general condition.
